Part of the wonder of perfumery is the amount of other fields it connects to: science, botany, medicine, spirituality, psychology, sociology, sexuality, and so many branches of history... studying perfume lore can be intellectually stimulating and emotionally enriching.
In keeping with that spirit, Mythos has taken the opportunity to insert an element of curiosity into its fragrances, with several variations of "Mythos Mysteries." The "mysteries" are fragrance guessing games, riddles, and mental puzzles, illustrated below.

Choose Your Journey - a live perfumery game
For in-person presentations, Mythos can take the curious perfumista through an olfactory version of the archetypal hero's journey. The patron chooses a God, a Monster, or several other attributes. Mythos has assigned perfume ingredients and accords to represent each choice. For example, Zeus's Golden Grove might be a blend that features Tobacco, Fenugreek. and Labdanum: a deep, warm, mighty blend. A really brave adventurer might choose Hades & the Lonely Gorgon... that one doesn't end well. Some blends will be glorious, some daunting, but all will be entertaining, guaranteed.
The Signature Blends - 13 Note Blends with Riddle Poems
Mythos is currently finalizing workshop versions of the first 3 "signature" blends, soon to be available on Etsy.com. 7 more are in development, due later in 2018. These are evocative fragrances on literary themes, always with 13 notes / accords.* Each will be released with a cryptic poem that illustrates the theme and contains clues about the ingredients.
**Key, for non-perfumer folks - a "note" is an individual scent within a perfume. It can be a single ingredient or an "accord," which is a synthesized blend that makes a recognizable smell.
Apothecary Oils - For body, mind, and spirit
Apothecary Oils are currently available on Etsy.com. These are oil blends: the base ingredients nourish the body while the fragrances entice the spirit and engage the mind. With 3 notes each, the first editions of the oils are based on letters of the alphabet and places in the world. Some folks have already joined in the fun and won prizes!
